Fit and communication

Plan how you will communicate before putting the gag on. A spoken safeword may be difficult to use, so agree on a clear non-verbal stop signal.

Fit carefully: On first use, place the gag carefully in the mouth and adjust it to a suitable position.
Keep wear brief: Avoid prolonged use. Stop immediately if the lower jaw becomes severely sore or breathing starts to speed up.
Stay present: Use only with another person present. Never leave the wearer unattended.
Use an object as a signal: Hold a small object in your hand. Releasing it means stop.
Check in immediately: When the object is released, stop and check with the wearer. Repeated nodding or shaking of the head can communicate the response.
